Organic Chemistry
This course is designed to introduce students to the real life of organic and bioorganic compounds. It outlines the principles, reactions, mechanisms, preparations and uses of hydrocarbons containing different functional group such as alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, alcohols, ethers, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids and its derivatives and amines in both aliphatic and aromatic compounds. The bioorganic covered the chapter of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and amino acids. All chapters are supported by appropriate laboratory experimental work where students develop techniques and manipulative skills in handling organic compounds safely associate with the theory. Properties, reactions and their mechanisms will be used to form a basis on which students will be able to more rapidly understand the reactions and properties of the organic compounds found in laboratories and in everyday life. 

Physical Chemistry
This course provides explanation on electrons and nuclei, molecular structure and chemical bonding. Then it will discuss on dynamics (the changes in a molecular system with time), chemical reactions and characteristics of association between atom and molecules. Besides that, phenomena and properties of gases, liquids and solids will also be included. 

Cell Biology & Genetics
This course provides concepts and principles to identify and understand the types and characteristics of cells, guided to understand the relationship between structure and function of all components in cells, assisted to understand and able to apply molecular biological techniques in related fields such as biotechnology, medicine, biomedicine etc. Students are exposed to understand the basic principles of genetics and exposed to identify related technologies in biotechnology, biomedicine and medicine. 

Basic Microbiology
In this course, the student will be introduced to the basic exposure to microorganisms. Students will learn and will be introduced to the characteristics and reproductive ways of microorganisms. Student will be also introduced to the handling of microorganisms in microbiology laboratory. 

English for Academic Enrichment
The course aims to enhance students’ proficiency in English language so that they will be able to cope with their academic and daily activities. The course focuses on developing speaking, reading and writing skills. Grammar and vocabulary are integrated in these language skills. Throughout the course various techniques and strategies are used to encourage active participation to students thus making the lessons fun and meaningful. 

This course will discuss on statistical methods required by the researcher. Topics covered include data presentation, probabilities, sampling, test of hypothesis, analysis of variance, regression and correlation and quality control. The significance of proper planning of experiments with regards to statistical aspects, sampling theory, proper sampling and the determination of the correct sampling size for different studies will also be included. Discussion also covers the techniques of research and utilizing statistical methods in analyzing research result. 

Anatomy & Physiology
Students will be taught about the various types of tissues, the structure and function of human organs, nervous system, digestive system, circulatory system, defense system and the reproductive system. Students will also be given exposure on the abnormalities and diseases related to these bodily systems. Through practical exercises, students will practically study on human body anatomy and their functions. 

Basic Pathology
This course in Basic Pathology highlight the basic concepts and principles of tissues response to injury including those due to chemical, physical and microbial agents affecting the major organ systems. The applications of the principles of the Pathology in understanding disease processes will be emphasized to illustrate the relationship between the cause (agents), lesion, (structural abnormality) and sign (functional abnormality) in disease as can be observed grossly and microscopically.

Immunology & Serology
This course provides an introduction to the significance of microbes to human health. The nature of infectious agents, mechanisms of pathogenecity and modes of microbial control are investigated. The interaction between infectious agents and the host immune system is investigated in terms of susceptibility to developing infectious disease. The course also provides the fundamentals of infection control practices in the health care setting. 

Clinical Biochemistry
This course will discuss on basic biochemistry of diseases due to metabolic disorder or biochemical substances such as lipid, carbohydrate and amino acids. It will introduce biochemical tests on blood, urine, and body fluid specimens to diagnose the diseases. Biochemical procedures especially the latest techniques and the basics of each test will also be given emphasis. 

Clinical Microbiology
This cause is designed for students to acquire that understanding for the benefit of practice in Medicine, in the present and future. Microbial pathogens always are considered as the main cause of fever, whereas medically they are encountered in very diverse remedial circumstances from managing a compound of fractures to evaluating a previously healthy patient with the sudden onset of bizarre behaviour. To combat new challenge, understanding of microbial pathogenesis and host defense mechanism must evolve so that new therapeutic and preventive measures can be developed. 

Laboratory Management & Instrumentation
This course is designed to discuss how to manage a laboratory well according to standards. The outcome of a well managed laboratory will be safe work environment; accurate and precise data generation; less wastage and efficient work.

This section covers topics on the introduction hematology and diseases of blood including the diagnosis and treatments. 

This course is a training course to expose students to the actual working environment in hospital, research institute or other health related industries or organizations. Scope of training covers all aspects in the diagnostic laboratories at various departments such as biochemistry, microbiology, parasitology, hematology, blood banking & transfusion (immunology), histopathology, cytology, immunology & serology. Guidelines regarding tests and task which need to be carried out by the students are laid down in the log book. Students must complete their log book and report in order for assessment to be done. In order to make sure students truly understand and appreciate the course, oral examination (viva) will be conducted and will be assessed individually.
